This is a female Black Lemur (actually chestnut in colour) and her pup.
The eyes are bright and inquisitive and it is leaning outwards, making sure it misses nothing...
Little pups tend to hold on tight for their first three weeks.
Lemurs have two tongues, the small under tongue is used to remove hair accumulated in grooming.
The Black Lemur is rare and lives for around 20 - 25 years.
They can reach a speed of 15.5m (25km) per hour.
They weigh approximately 2 - 2.5kg (4.4 - 5.5lb) and are around 39 - 45cm long.
